Project 5 FLIR One with alternative lenses



This page looks at further lenses from Argus cameras on the FLIROne unit. The PCB design was made with some additional mountings to take various lenses from both later cameras and the early P4430 type

All the lenses used in Argus Cameras

The table below lists all the lenses that might be found in Argus cameras, and the resulting horizontal fields of view on the FLIR One (120 px at 12um)

Final Thoughts

Depending on the planned use, lenses much over 20mm focal length become very difficult to aim due to the narrow field of view. However the very long focal lengths of 'old' lenses on the small pitch sensor of the FLIR One can give surprising reslts, as seen by the moon image. A similar approach to better cores where the image can be reprocessed may be even better. I think a 150mm on a 17u ULIS sensor sytem such as Argus MITIC could be interesting.
