Argus Refurbished cameras for sale

Many of the earlier Argus brand cameras are coming to the end of their lives in front line use and being disposed of as scrap or for part exchange making them available for secondary users and hobbyists. Some have been released by sales agents as ex-demo. However many can be a punt on eBay as around half of those offered do not work for one reason or another.

The cameras sold by Fire TICs are fully refurbished, often with new lenses, and meet original factory performance specifications. Photographs, recorded images and video from the actual camera are always available before committing to a purchase. Cosmetically the cameras are a bit more variable depending on how hard a life they had, or whether the cases have been replaced. Additionally all Argus1 & Argus2 cameras are sold with one battery cartridge for AA cells as no new rechargeable batteries have been made in the last 10 years. Fire-TICS also sell on eBay from time to time as it is higher visbility but prices will be 12%-15% higher than a direct purchase as there are the eBay fees to consider.

Note: Argus2 and Argus3 are UK export controlled, as are some Argus4 models. As such sales of these cameras are only possible to buyers in the UK and EU27 at present. Sale to AUS, NZ, NOR, JP, US, CAN, CH may be possible on application.
Sales are conditional on agreeing to abide by the relevant export controls in the destination country, and understanding that purchaser information may be supplied to UK export control if required.

For those looking for theatrical props, poor performing or non-functional camera bodies are also available. Argus1 is best suited this as they are bright yellow and look much more like a ray gun or whatever your production requires. A working camera helps the users point it in the right way.
